The Sixth Ceva University Successfully Completed in China

This Ceva University focused on the status quo and trend of layer breeder industry, prevention and control measures and scientific research techniques, layer breeding and raising.

The sixth Ceva University was successfully organised by Ceva China and supported by Yangzhou University, and being held at Veterinary College of Yangzhou University from July 28th to 30th. This Ceva University focused on the status quo and trend of layer breeder industry, prevention and control measures and scientific research techniques, layer breeding and raising, etc. Approximately ten industry experts and top scholars in the industry were invited to share their opinions and research results from various aspects and angles. Ceva invited over forty representatives from layer production companies across the country to participate in the university.

The sixth Ceva University was inaugurated by Mr. Mango Chen, Technical and Marketing Director of Ceva China, expressed his sincere gratitude to Veterinary College of Yangzhou University, and heartfelt thanks to all the learners.

Liya Cai, Secretary of Party Committee of Veterinary College of Yangzhou university, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the university. She thanked Ceva for holding this Ceva University, highlighted that this was an embodiment that Ceva values science and talents and that this activity was a Production-Study-Research cooperation, which was very successful and of practical meaning. Then, Mr. Harry Picard, Ceva China Country Manager, delivered a speech, expressing his warm welcome to experts, scholars and learners present at the training from both at home and abroad and from Yangzhou university.

On the first day of the academic report session, Mr. Antonio Paraguassu, representative of EW Company, delivered two reports, respectively entitled Prospective & Challenges for the Global Layer Industry andLayer breeding update & Key factors of Success. Dr. Alecia Godoy from Ceva China Biomune Company shared his report entitled Update on the Control of Marek's Disease. Dr. Xiufan Liu, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor and Doctoral Tutor of Veterinary College of Yangzhou university delivered a report entitled Endemic of AI Virus is a Persistent Threat for the Public Sanitary and Poultry Industry. Dr. Yantao Wu, Professor of Veterinary College of Yangzhou University introduced Research and Development of IB QX Serotype Variant Vaccine.

On the second day of the training, Dr. Fernando Lozano, Manager of Global Veterinary Services shared his report Epidemiological considerations for the control of Infectious Laryngotracheitis. Mr. Koen Zhao, Product Manager of Ceva China, introduced the protection test on virus attacking related to Vectormune FP-LT and the field tests on China's layers and breeders, evidencing the use effect of Vectormune FP-LT by using experimental data. Dr. Xiaorong Zhang, Associate professor of Veterinary college of Yangzhou university shared a report entitled Epidemiology and Prevention of Mycoplasma Synovia in Layers. Dr. Zhiming Pan, Dean of Biological sciences and technology college delivered a report entitled Research on How to Prevent Salmonella in Poultry Industry.

Several experts from both at home and abroad respectively made their report and analysis on their own themes in a comprehensive and systematical way and answered the questions from the learners on the spot.

On July 30th, Ceva University had organized learners to attend the 12th International Symposium on Marek's Disease and Avian Herpesviruses, which left a deep impression on them and benefited them a lot. They said that it was rewarding to gain access to international academic symposium thanks to the platform of Ceva University. That night, Ceva University held a simple but unforgettable gala dinner and conferred a completion certificate to all learners as a way to congratulate the learners on their completing the learning and training on the sixth Ceva University.
